Farepak Hampers - Administrators AppointedFarepak customers, or those thinking of getting their regular Christmas hamper from Farepak, should know that, on October 13th, administrators were appointed over the assets and business of Farepak Food and Gifts Limited.
For full details of this news then please follow the link provided below to the Farepak website, which is now being used by administrators to keep customers informed. As of 25th October, 2006, the website was reporting that no orders of hampers, gifts or vouchers would be delivered, and no new orders were being taken. For any claims you may have, then the Farepak website provides the address that you'll need to send notice of any such claims.
Farepak had been operating from its Swindon site since its foundation in 1969, and had grown to serve over 35,000 agents. Originally developed as a traditional Christmas Hamper company, Farepak grew to be one of the largest Christmas savings schemes in the country, with tens of thousands of customers enjoying Farepak's excellent range of hampers, gifts and shopping vouchers.
After its purchase of Kleeneze Homecare in 1995, Farepak became part of the retail group that now operates under European Home Retail.
An estimated 120,000 customers have lost savings of up to £40m from Farepak's collapse, whom apparently continued to take customer's money, despite its shares being suspended in August of this year.
